Hi, I’m Alan Quin, owner of Quin Fitness. My goal is to help you become the best you can be, by giving you the advice, programs and motivation you need to enjoy your life to the fullest. With many years’ experience training elite athletes, and armed with the scientific methods used to propel professional sportspeople to their greatest heights, I am proud to now offer you a proven pathway to achieving your fitness, mindset and lifestyle goals.

I’ve always been passionate about sports and fitness.

Born and raised in Galway City, I got involved in rugby at an early age in Garbally College and continued to play all the way up to Senior level with both Galwegians and Corinthians while also representing Connacht at various competitive levels.
Having only recently retired I am looking forward to passing on my passion and knowledge to the next generation at Corinthians and also coach at schools level.
My dog Charlie also keeps me busy and when I’m not walking him, I’m on my mountain bike, enjoying yoga, weight training and sea swimming.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Limerick (UL) in 2008. During my studies, I was fortunate to undertake a work placement with London Wasps Rugby Club as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. That year was incredibly rewarding as Wasps enjoyed the ultimate success when they won the Heineken European Cup and English premiership.
Following my studies and experience with Wasps, I set up my own business and not long afterwards was approached by the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) to be the Fitness Coach, Irish Women’s Rugby team leading up to and including the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
At local level I’ve also had the privilege of being the Strength & Conditioning coach for Galway Senior hurling clubs Gort, St Thomas’ and Tynagh Abbey Duniry, with both Gort and St Thomas’ winning county titles subsequently.

I was also privileged to help prepare professional boxer Andy Murray for his light middleweight European title fight in Cardiff.

Another rewarding experience was being involved in the very exciting broadcast program, Operation Transformation on RTÉ where I was approached by producers to be the “Fitness Challenge Coach”. This entailed designing a fitness challenge to be aired at the end of each show on RTE to test if the leaders were adhering to their programs.

Through the program, I was able to show people at home that exercise doesn’t have to be hard, complicated or boring and that some simple exercises undertaken at home can make a huge difference to their health and wellbeing.

I take a proactive, holistic approach and lead by example

I understand that life can throw a few challenges and believe me, I’ve dealt with my fair share too. That’s why a holistic approach to body, mind and lifestyle is so important to me, and giving you the tools to achieve a healthier version of you, with the fitness to enjoy the leisure and sporting activities you love, while achieving the balanced, positive life you long for.
If you’re ready to commit to your fitness, mindset and lifestyle goals for transformational change that has the power to change your life, give me a call today to talk about the next steps.  A healthier, happier you could be just around the corner!
